Velvet dresses are available in a variety of colors including white and silver. When considering your color choice, please remember that with white or any pale knit, the garment will not be completely opaque. Ginger has developed a solution for this: a special short under dress camisole (available on the Extras page along with a rope belt).

Fit Ginger has developed and refined these patterns for 8 years. These dresses are fun, flattering and comfortable. They are not, however, a perfectly tailored garment. If you feel the need to "nit-pick" and "exact fit," Faire Pair Velvet Dresses may not be for you. The bodice part of the dress is tight, supportive even. In fact, half of the girls just skip their bra. Be ready. Remember to adjust. There are no zippers, hooks or fasteners. Nothing to break or catch. Don't you just love that? Fabrics Liquid Lux Velvet Liquid Lux Velvet is the classic elegant velvet. This is the a 2-way stretch, poly and Lycra™ blend. Liquid Lux is a napped fabric that has a sheen and direction to the hand. Crushed Lux Velvet Crushed Lux Velvet is the same 2-way stretch, poly and Lycra™ blend as Liquid Lux but with a mottled look. This is also napped fabric that has a direction to the hand and a higher sheen than Liquid Lux. Dress Styles Short The Short dress is slightly above the knee in length. Dress it up for a dinner date or wear it with sandals for a cool summer look. Long The Long velvet dress falls to the top of foot. This is an elegant, classic style. With the right accessories, this dress is perfect for either a night at the opera or a day at the Renaissance Faire. Sleeve Styles Regular A tight fitting long sleeve. Flippy Longer than a standard cap sleeve, this sleeve falls to just above the elbow. Covers the upper arm without being restrictive. A fun, flirty, sleeve perfect for any length dress. Gothic A long sleeve with a slit from above the wrist to below the shoulder. Queen With long trailing points, this is the sleeve most often seen in illustrations of Medieval nobility. There is a lot of material in this sleeve (in the Short Dress, there is literally more material in the Queen sleeves than in the rest of the dress). Princess This is a scaled-down, 3/4 length version of the Queen sleeve.
